Busy is the new black

Seriously, who do you know that hasn't been insanely crazy. I can't count a one. Life is certainly taking us all by storm right now.

I look forward to stopping to smell the roses again sometime soon.

One way I try to decompress from the craziness is through photography. I am certainly not a pro, but I just find it therapeutic and fun for all involved.

My friend's daughter is a Senior in high school and I offered to take some photos for senior pictures. I was honored she gave me this opportunity. I will be shooting my sister's wedding in a couple of weeks, so I was happy to get the practice. Here are a few of my favorite shots.

I would love some feedback from those photo pros out this in blog-land.

I love the contrast of her focused and the blurry people in the background. Cool shot, I think.

Melissa wanted more of the cool building behind her, but I much preferred the pictures of her up close.

Mom and daughter pic...too cute!
I was just trying to get her to not pose smile in this picture and it became one of my favorite pics of the day.

Thank you Melissa and Linda. This was a really fun day! Love you both.

Day at Disneyland

Earlier this year, we volunteered at a local high school and each received free tickets to Disneyland. In years past we have gone to Disneyland on Mother's Day. However, this weekend didn't have anything going on, so we thought we would go to Disneyland with our free tickets. I am sure glad we did. We had a super time. Here are a few shots and memories of our day.

Juan: Are you going to want to take pictures of everything ALL DAY..gawwwwww?
Dad: Come on Juan, let's just get it over with.
Mom: Would you two just stop complaining and stand in front of the damn mouse.

Welcome to the happiest place on Earth (with a teenager)!

Juan trying to act like he is NOT scared at the Haunted Mansion..HA!! HA!!

This picture represents our family more than any other shot EVER!
Dad is just hanging out effected by nothing (he would not show expression of having fun at Disneyland if it would save his life).
Juan shows pure joy thinking no one will see it.
Mom demonstrating the melo-dramatics she so loves!

Juan: When will this be over...I am HUNGRY?

Our favorite part of any amusement park are the shows. It is always fun to get away from the crowds, relax, and giggle. The Hillbilly show is one of our favs.

It was a GREAT day, and I am so glad we decided to go this weekend. It was a low key day with no schedule, time to be there, be back, etc. Just walked around and hung out together as a family. I love all my friends and extended family, but some days with just the three of us are the ones I cherish the most. I love you Brad and Juan!!
